Falling somewhere between Broken Social Scene and Keane on the indie rock/pop spectrum, the self-titled debut album from San Francisco-based You Said Saturday is not bad, but it's not remarkable, either. The band's mellow sound is polished and the lyrics are thoughtful and, at times, catchy. But the problem with the album is that it's simply nothing new. You Said Saturday are just yet another indie band who could be mistaken for Coldplay on first listen. If that's your thing, then you will like this album. If you are looking for something new and different, you won't find it here.
